For us, URBAN means community.
The Inaugural Annual Atlanta Urban Film and Music Festival is dedicated to a mission that embraces filmmakers at all stages of their journey — from student films to professional creators.
Oh, and don’t let the word URBAN fool you — we are energized by the diversity and inclusion of all global Content Creators and Visionaries, no matter who you are. For us, URBAN means community, and we help one another.
For us, “Urban” is a Global Community of filmmakers and music producers that help to support and advance one another.

The prestigious Hattie Awards symbolizes excellence, perseverance, and inspiration in all creative genres and focuses on Creators in film, music, art and technology.
Hattie McDaniel’s journey — from being overlooked to breaking barriers and achieving greatness — perfectly embodies the mission of AUFMF. Her legacy of resilience and triumph mirrors the paths of countless actors, directors, musical talents, and creators, inspiring generations to push forward and claim their rightful place in award history.
Hattie McDaniel was the first African American performer to win an Academy Award, in 1940.

A first for AUFMF
Military & Veteran Performing Arts Awards
For our first annual festival we present the first ever Atlanta Military and Veteran Performing Arts Awards, honoring our local military community. Submit a project, and invite your family and friends to see it on a big screen.
To be selected or nominated, the Director, Writer, Lead Actor/Actress or Singer must be a U.S. Veteran or currently serving. We may ask for proof.
